Dedicated server problem

Hey, im setting up a dedicated server on a seperate machine.......BUT this is how i have it setup

Internet --> Main PC --> Crossover Cable --> 2nd PC (the one i want to be server)

i have no router or firewall, so is it possible for me to setup a server on the 2nd pc?

both PC's are running XP

yes and no, if you use the built in Internet sharing connection of XP then no.

If you get yourself some advanced NAT software ( like the ISC mentioned above) then yes. for about the same amount of money you can get yourself a router.

or use the computer that is directly connected to the Internet for the server
