I'd like to keep the old running speed on my server cuz it's more mohaa for me, but how do i change it in the .cfg file? The default is set sv_dmspeedmult 1.100000 so is the "normal" speed 1.000000 (haven't gotten round to try this, sorry if this is the one :rolleyes: )?
I run the server via the cmd prompt and not from with in the game so this should be very nice to know cuz it doesn't show in the cfg file if I set it up with in the game and uncheck the speed option. Any ideas?

Yes, just change it to 1.0 in server.cfg and it'll be back to normal.

Actually the default runspeed in the Spearhead demo is set at 287. The default runspeed in MOH:AA was 250. This is about a 15% increase and is why people seem to whiz around even on the so-called 'normal' speed.

It's my belief that the EA guys bumped up the runspeed because the maps are so much bigger and hoped that we either wouldn't notice or care. However with the awful framerates in the Malta map this higher runspeed contributes significantly to the generally choppiness and jerky apparent movement of other players.

I've found that even setting runspeed back to what is really normal (set sv_runspeed 250), the players still skip around quite a bit. I've experimented with various runspeeds and have settled on 240 as being the best compromise (IMO) between normal movement and accurate reporting of player positions. Yes this means it takes longer to get around the maps BUT the players move smoothly and progressively and makes gameplay a lot better.

Try adding the following lines to your server.cfg or just type them into console once you have your server running.

set sv_dmspeedmult 1.0
set sv_runspeed 240
set sv_walkspeed 150
set sv_crouch_mult 0.6
