I've managed to install the demo on three of my four computers, but cannot get it to install on the one computer I use for my dedicated server.
Here's the problem.

Even though I have downloaded the exe file from multiple sources, multiple times, and installed it on three computers, the file is giving me a number of error messages upon attempting to install.
It is saying the there is an "I/O error" and that either the installation file or media was corrupt. I have gone over my registry, ran utilities, optimized, checked my RAM, all to no avail.

I know this isn't directly related to the forum subject, but without installing this, I can't run my dedicated server with the proper resources. So I hope someone can help.

Comp stats:
1gHz Duron
ECS K7S5A MB
512 PC133 SDRam
Voodoo3 3000 AGP
Win98SE

You might want to run scandisk and check your hard drive. also check to see if you have enough room on your C: drive. even if you have another drive installed you still need room on C: for install files.

if these do not work let us know.

I ran a thorough scandisk and defrag, and have over a gig left on the C:

I'm hoping that it's just this file and this computer. I've just resigned myself to not having a decent ded server until next weekend. Hopefully this doesn't apply to the full version.

Thanks for the advice, RudeDog

Your computer uses a Via motherboard??

There's a known bug with Via chipsets latency; it means that if you copy (or try to install) a file from one IDE hard disk to another you'll get a "corrupted file" error. There'a a patch available for this:

http://www.networking.tzo.com/net/software/ See "PCI Latency" patch for VIA chipsets

Hope it helps,

The motherboard is an ECS. I'm not sure as to the chipset, (I don't think it VIA) but that's the manufacturer.

May I ask what your name translates to in english? I have very poor Spanish, (public education, three years of Spanish), and can't figure it out.

Thanks for your reply,

Since this is just the demo you can also just copy over the folder on the network. You dont have to install it.
