I'm new to the site, but glad to find it. I can't get a basic dedicated server running. Windows, v1.11. I'm quite surprised to see in the Guides section of this site that there is NOT a "Basic dedicated server setup" guide! Seems like guide #1 for a site called mohadmin. I need help from someone who can walk me through it.

thanks for that.

Ive run through the document and created a server.cfg and edited it accordingly.

I beleive it is now running as it loads ok in the console window.

------ Server Initialization Complete ------ 9.75 seconds
soundtrack switched to music/mohdm5.mus.
playing music/mohdm5.mus
music set to normal with fallback normal
Loading Ambient.scr
Hitch warning: 9849 msec frame time
Hitch warning: 5762 msec frame time

What does "Hitch Warning" mean?

Ive also set Gamespy to 1 in the cfg file but I am unable to find the server when browsing through GS .. any ideas? Ive set the GameType to 2 for TDM.

Ive also checked All-Seeing Eye and nothing.

I then decided to try finding it using the InGame Browser, but now I get an error when in goes into the Main Manu, the console is up and I get a "localization" file couldnt be found. All the settings have reverted back to the "game default".

I then removed the server.cfg file from /main and it still happens. Have you come across this before?

The Hitch Warning is normal, if you see that it means your server is running.
If you are trying to browse for the server from the same network that the server is on, you will not see it in any game browser (GSpy, ASE). Only someone from outside your network will be able to see it.

I dont understand the error you say you are getting. Do you mean it happens in the game and not the server?

ahhh ok, Ive got the server running on the same PC. I will have to get other members to check this for me. thanks.

Ive sorted it now .. i think :P .. the "localization file" error was showing in the main menu for MoH in the console which comes up automatically.

I downloaded the localisation file from your downloads section and seems to of worked.

thanks.
