Hey I have noticed alot of cheaters, and I hope Spearhead has a fix with the new addon to fix alot of these hackers and cheats. I have noticed alot of cheats as far as making server lagg, ours, are one in paticular. {EFC} server, and I do have my eye out day and night, watching for those skin cheats and hackers, and i am making a list of the cheaters and taking screen shots, and writing down ip #'s We should have a site on here, where we can place a list of ip's, for those admins who want to keep cheaters off there servers. And in order for them to verify that an ip has cheated, they have to take down a screen shot of that person cheating, and they have to have the name and ip....may be a bad idea...but its a thought....I'm willing to do anyhting I can to work against cheaters, and If you have ideas and need my help, then let me know
The problem with that is that IP addresses change. So you may stop an cheater for a day or so, but as soon as they get a new IP address they'll be back. Not only that but when someone else get's their IP address they'll find themselves banned from servers and have no clue as to why.

i've always had same ip #
I use a cable connection and I do know that from time to time the lease on the IP address expires and I will on occassions, when bouncing the router get a different IP address. It mostly depends on the ISP and how they have their networks setup. DSL IP addresses change almost with every log in unless you leave it constantly connected.

What we really need is the ability to identify a player by some kind of unique identifier like a serial number assigned to the copy of the game software. That way, regardless of IP or player name, the individual can be positively identified. ;)
That would be good Shockwave though with all the cracked versions out there I think we'd end up hitting a large portion of the community. But I do agree that some place where we can list names and "current" IP information would be helpful. One thing about the IP address, can do a lookup on them and see which ISP they belong to, that would help narrow it down some. If there were multiple offenses from the same ISP, a general ban on an IP range might do the trick.

I'm putting together a list of names and IP addresses(about 280 in total) soon there will be a page with all of them in my site http://www.phoenixforce.net it doesn't matter if they change their IP or name, they'll be posted there for all admins to grab it and add to their Autokick list. They might change the IP or name but we have got to start somewhere. If anybody have info that wants to add to it, just send it to bannedcheaters@phoenixforce.net and I'll post it.
