OUR SOLUTION TO CHEATERS !!

On our server we have Delator and Autokick running. Delator detects but does not kick the users using cheatskins. This way Crow King's Autokick has a chance of logging the IP.
Everyday i do a check on who was detected using cheatskins......then i look up the IP in Autokick's serverlog and ban the IP and name in autokick.

And ofcourse some will slip through with dynamic IP's en when they use adjusted .pk3-files. But it's a start and it will sure beat the newbees and warn them.

I let my Delator kick them and more then halve the time they come back in with the skin changed.I watch Delators log for players that keep trying to come back everyday with a new skin, those guys I might ban. The real cheaters do not use these skins that Delator detects, these are usually some n00bs that just don't know better.So I give them a chance to change it and come back in.If they keep switching neon skins and try seeing if they can slip through, I would notice this in the log and then would be a good reason to ban.Those guys will keep trying until they find one that Delator won't detect and can cause problems.

I would have to agree with Dean.
Delator isn't going to catch a die-hard cheater who knows what they are doing.

I hate to see someone get banned becuase some is trying a skin that a friend just sent them. 90% of the people who delator will kick, Will come back with a normal skin.

Don't get me wrong Benman. It's your server so you have every right to do it however you want.

This is funny - the situation that Dean described happened to us exactly on our server, lol, a bunch of us were laughing at this guy because he just wouldn't give up, and he wouldn't switch to a stock skin - i eventually added this guys IP to autokick after he tried about 4 different skins. We're usually much more strict than this, but it was funny

I agree, most of the people using the skins just don't know better or are just crious as to what it looks like in play. Not what you'd call serious cheaters. Most serious cheaters are wise enough to do the rename thing and try slipping past that way.
