1) maps go in the mohaa/main directory
2) For the message people see when they join. You can get that here in the download section under server side mods.
If your new to running a server, I would suggest browsing the forums here and at aa.com
Your job running the server will be a lot less of a headache after you do a little reading.
so i just put the maps in main and then type it in the gamemap command in the rcon thingy heheheeheh
and thanx druid 4 takeing time to answer me :D

Look for bulls dedicated server guide. This was like my bible when I first started hosting.
If anyone knows where bull is now a days. please let me know as I would love to add his guide here,
You will also find a ton of good info over at alliedassault.com

You have to add the map to the main folder of the server, and the name of the map isn't determined by the filename of the map, so you'll need to open it up from within your own copy of MOHAA to find out what the map name is.
Actually, that brings up a good point. Besides your great idea, Rude, to have a naming convention for pk3 files, perhaps mappers would do us a great service if they included readmes with the zip files that told us the name that we'd use in the rotation. Just a thought, anyhow. LOL
Ok, a couple of things
first make sure you unzipped your map. You should get a pk3 file after you unzip it.
Never assume the pk3 file name is the correct map name. Open the pk3 file with winzip or winrar or pakscape. follow the map directory to the map name.
When entering your map name into your cfg file. remember to add the map type first ie: dm/mohdm1 or obj/obj_map1
When adding a map to the map list. make sure the first map in the rotation is what starts the server
[code:1]seta sv_maplist "obj/objxfire obj/BridgeCrossing obj/obj_push_harbourtown obj/renan obj/obj_thunder obj/push_cityhall obj/obj_maromg obj/objlol_v2_13 obj/wdcobj1"
map obj/objxfire[/code:1]
Check out the sample server.cfg files under guides to the left
Here is the link to bulls dedicated server guide. a very good primer to start hosting your own server.

Good luck with your server.

What I was going for here was actually an easy way for everyone to know the MOH name of a map so that we wouldn't have to hunt for it (using pakscape or whatever). I know some people have enough trouble keeping a server running (*cough* Judas *cough* LOL) nevermind finding the proper MOH names of maps. :D :D :D
