rcon issue

I can only use rcon as long as I am not taking part in the game - what's wrong..?

What all have you tried while you are in the game?
Have you tried rconpassword xxxxxxx
then rcon status
thats how i always do it. But more info would be helpful.

well, I know that... as I said, I am able to give rcon commands, only, not from within the game... they will appear as plain text messages...

it sounds to me like you are trying to use "y" instead of "~". are you opening the console by pressing "~" that is the button directly above the tab key. You must type these things in the console in order to get them to work. By telling me that all it is doing is putting what you say n chat, then it has led me to beleave that you are not doing it on the console. Please correct me if i am wrong.

P.S. In order to get the console up, go to your main menu, click on i think advanced, and make sure there is an "x" beside console.

betta change your rcon password too, if you typed it in the chaat, then most everyone there knows it and can change your server all around..
