MAPS LOAD SLOW?

I cant figure it out I have a faster computer ,more ram,better vid card ,same ping on the server as everyone else but still I miss the first round 9 out of 10 times more than my clan mates. Anyone have any ideas on this?

What are your system specs? What brand of ram? What is the break down on the type of ram? (ie; 2x 128, 1x 512)

Which HD do you have the game loaded on?
How much space is left on your HD?
And how big is the HD?
Do you have any other apps running on your machine while you are playing? (ie; ICQ, IE6,Outlook)

These are some of the things which could be affecting your system performance. Granted knowing your system specs to a T helps us figure it out too.

asus a7v333 mb
1x 512 pc 2700 kingmax ddr
athlon barton 2500 oc'ed to 2.1 ghz
maxtor ata 133 40 gig hd ( 20 gigs of free space )
geforce 4 ti 4200 64 mb vid card
windows 98

I run nothing in the background except teamspeak

Cange from 98 to XP. Xp utilizes memory better then 98 as well as 300 other resource features.
