OK, I was just thinking how CoDadmin.com and MOHadmin.com has helped a lot of new and experienced admins out there setup their servers or at least I hope so.
What does everyone think about adding to the site (possible rename) so we could cover more then just MOH and CoD? I would like to cover other FPSers
Would others who are experienced with administrating other game servers like to help moderate their game type?
The forums would be changed over to vB as well as the MOH theme I currently use.
Tell me your thoughts comments or did I just ruin your day?
Feed back welcomed and needed!

Well my little group of players started out with MOH and ran with the whole series and the same goes for COD.WE are thinking ourselves to maybe branch out into Counter Strike: Source. The thing is CC has a huge following and is always at the top of the list for players online at any given time.O-G-U.com is going to be offering a Counter Strike:Source server in the near future to go with our COD servers.Just a thought. Also Brothers In Arms looks promising

I can see where you guys would want a little leeway in terms of site admin. Good job to all of you! I was really surprised with the stats for CoD after only a little more than a year.
My first thought was that it would be a shame to trend away from WWII-genre games here, but, then I realized that this site and MOHAdmin aren't necessarily about WWII games, they're about proper and efficient game server administration. That said, I don't see any reason why the site couldn't be expanded to encompass other FPS multi-player games, as long as the organization of the new site kept access and navigation smooth for each specific game. Perhaps a section for each, with a "common" game server admin "principles" section?? Don't know, just brainstorming.
I don't have any particular games in mind...I play pretty much all the FPS games, but not online...only WWII. My primary concern, as I said above, would be the structure of the new site.
Whatever you guys decide, I'm sure you'll bring it off well as you've done in the past. If you need any help, feel free to contact me.

Sounds like a great idea to me. Pooling resources, more admins and moderators to help....great idea!

Some dogs think alike. I really enjoy playing WWII games before others online. However I do like HL2 and hope we see some WWII mods shortly
Think of games like
BF
BF-V
BF2 (once released)
HL2
CS source
Brothers in arms (once released)
Doom3
Unreal
and other's. I would like to do new games only but we will see.
Not all the games mentioned above but most, maybe we look at WWII FPS games first.
Everything would be broken down by game type.
You would have main links like
home, forum, links, downloads, guides
Under these links we would then break them up for each game type. I would like to start helping admins with web stuff as well. A great game server should have a web site to relay game server related info. I get a lot of questions via PMs for nuke and PHP modules to monitor game servers.
The nice thing about this merger, is we are able to help more people and CoDadmin.com would be using better forum software, vBulletin.
This is not going to happen over night as I need to work on merging both forums first. This means all users and messages.
If anyone has any suggestions, please drop me a line.

I agree with OD, we're both WWII fans more than anything else.
A general "FPS" site would certainly do well. There are others out there, i tend to avoid them because getting through the forums (when i read all new posts) can be a pain. If there's 10 games i could care less about wading through the games i don't want to see is tedious. But MoHAdmin and CoDAdmin are in my blood, so i'd stick around
A general "clan assistance" or "gamer assistance" site has good appeal. When i was putting together my first nuke site it was tough finding clan specific blocks and modules. There's still nothing like that out there, but i've got a decent set of bookmarks and my own software archive :D
Anyway, i'm happy to assist in anyway i can. While i've never done a phpBB to vB convert, i've done many site moves. And i almost always end up manually editing SQL code to make the move if something goes south, so i've been there :|

Thanks for the reply woody. I really want to stick to the WWII aspect of the FPS type of games.
HL2 looks to have some very nice mods coming out that fit that bill.
As for the phpbb -> vB conversion. it goes like this
phpnuke -> phpbb -> phpbb latest rev -> vB :o -> merging 2 vB's -> one vB.
I don't want to jump into 10 different games all at once. We would add games over time.
With BF2 and Brothers in arms coming out. we could ease into them first and then see how other games take off.
My main concern is to keep everything very organized, basicly the font page would be the only thing that would come together really.

I'm hitting this thread a little late, but I've been visiting or getting assistance from MOHadmin and CODadmin for almost two years now and I'm very thankful for all your help.
Our team is primarly WW2 MP, but we've talked about getting involved in other games in the near future, possibly Battlefield2. As much as it would be great to have one site covering alot of games, I agree with MjrWoody that other sites like that tend to get a bit messy and it's hard to find support or subjects when there are too many different games involved. Maybe there's a way to pull it off... I'm not sure. Personally, I think maybe one main site with subdomains for each game might work. I'm around to help if needed.
Anyway, thank you for all the time and effort you've put into the sites and the support... it's much appreciated.
