Mandrake 10.1, data copied directly from CD, repeated to confirm no corrupt files were copied. Server is executed correctly, when typing in map "mapname" or anything else to start the server, it loads the PK3 files, and the so file, all correctly, then it randomly says "SCRIPT COMPILE ERROR". - UNKNOWN FUNCTION @ 37. Then it shuts down the server.

Make sure you don't have any extraneous .pk3 files from other mods in your game dirs.
Script compile error
Question
When I load the game I get a script compile error.
Answer
Uninstall Call Of Duty, delete the game folder, and then reinstall the game and the expansion. Make sure that you do not install any third party maps/mods/skins of any type.

This is a clean install, no extra things added other than files from the CD.

Did you get all the pk3 files from both CDs copied over, and then apply the COD Linux distro to it?
You should have the following files in your main folder:

hunkusage.dat

localized_english_pak1.pk3
localized_english_pak2.pk3
localized_english_pak3.pk3

pak1.pk3
pak2.pk3
pak3.pk3
pak4.pk3
