I follow the steps on making my server for COD UO
And wen i run the icon it stops then two windows are shown one for Safe mode and the other is the game. when i close the safe mode then it conects me to my own server. Is this normal?

How can i invite my friends over my new server?
Do i have to send them my ip adress?
how can i know what is the ip adress of my server?
if i got out of the game that means the server is closed?
if it´s closed do i have to say to my friends to wait five minutes while im getting in my server?

You to either have them connect to IP or get a hostname from a service like dyndns.org; also, you will need to open port 28960 on your router/firewall.

Same as above, but yes, they will need that to get in.

There are many ways, one is to check your router for your ip, others are site out there that can tell you your internet IP

Depends if the server is your own machine or a seperate box. If yes to your own machine, then yes the server dies when you close the game.

no, once you are in the game after settin up the server, they can join.

hope this helps. for a good server, you really should have a dedicated, so it is up and running. For an example, check out the -=ELG=- Call of Duty and UO servers.

How can i get a hostname, do i have to pay?
How can i open the port 28960?. i have zone alarm.

Zonealarm will ask you if it's OK to let traffic thru on that port. Unless it asked before and you said no...
