USER INTERFACE PROBLEMS

Hope someone can help me. I had three different versions of cod to get extra guid numbers for my kids and some how they got all mixed up.Long story short I tried to reinstall COD my original and when I went to play multiplayer it wouldnt load due to fatal error. [ user interface version 9 expecting 7] Please can someone tell me how to fix this problem. I dont know where to start

An old answer i know,but it applies,just the same.Ensure you are using a the patched 1.4 executable.
