hay guys
have a question
why dosn't the maps change on my server.
i would assume that the command scr_dom_timelimit "40"
would change the map after 40 min (right ?)
but does that only count if the match is started
ok my point is if my server is empty seems like
it stays on the same map going on 4 hours now and hasnt changed..
is there a way around this so it would go through the rotation..

It would help if you posted your config, so we can see what's going on. But, do you have a "map_rotate" command?

Yes i do
dont get me wrong it plays fine when people are in it
but what i'm saying if no ones in it the maps dont rotate

config is kinda long
what in the config do you need to see
i only run dom i know how to set things up
just wanted to know if anyone else is having this problem
when the server is empty does your maps still change??

you have it set to run the map for 40 hours.

I've also tryed 20 for 20mins
but nither seem to work
have you left you own server empty and see if it changes on its own?
Change the time limit to 20, then change the round length to 10 or something.
set scr_dom_timelimit "20"
set scr_dom_roundlength "10"
It would help if you posted your map rotation as well; tell us what you have sv_maprotation set to.
Also, when you're in the server, enter this command and tell us what it says:
/rcon sv_maprotationcurrent

I have tyed it origanly wiht 40 with 20 min rounds
didnt work

still not working for some reason

Let me understand...the maps rotate ok when players are on, but NOT when the server is empty?
I assume that, since you didn't put "gametype dom" before each map in the rotation string that you have a "g_gametype" command to set the maps to domination?
Again, although the config is long, we're not seeing the whole picture, so its difficult to help.

yha i understand about seeing the config just my config is big
with all the comments i leave myself (being a programer myself)
and the added cvars for my own personal mod
yes i have stated g_gametype as DOM
that is the only game type we want on our server
any yes olddog you are correct with the problem

You have a mod?
Well, since my server is completely STOCK and the server maps rotate whether people are there or not, I would have to assume that it's possibly your mod/script changes that may be causing it.
Have you tried running the server pure STOCK and see if the maps rotate with no one in there?
If everything runs ok, then you know it's related to your mod/changes.

Anex has a good point...remove the mod(s), and try stock...

Not sure if this is related - but we have a similar thing in CTF - and the counter doesn't start until there are at least 2 people in the game - 1 on each team.
When no one is in the server - I'm assuming the counter hasn't actually started and the map doesn't change.
Maybe I'm offbase - just a thought.

Sounds like a mod issue. Plus 2400 is a long time to play a match.
