View Full Version : UO Inaccurate Weapons?! Need Realism Mod Soon

My group that I play with is frustrated with the changes made to all the weapons in CoD:UO. We never use 'dynamic sites' in my game but now almost have to. It takes more rounds to kill your enemy and shooting from the hip is really difficult now. :ouch:
I have not seen any discussion on this matter yet and was wondering if anyone has heard of any patches or mods comming out to correct this problem. Hopefully AWE and PRM will come to the rescue.

My guess is that you're discovering the new damage versus range feature GMI added in UO. The farther away your target is the less damage you do when you hit them. Previously, the damage would be the same at long range as it is point-blank. For me, it made it appear that the MG's and semi-automatic rifles were less accurate and that the damage of SMG's was lowered. But if you're talking about realism, it's actually more realistic now. It's harder to kill someone at range with an SMG and a shot to the chest with a rifle point-blank will kill whereas at range it won't.

VS-UK is in testing (Beta 1) of its new version (3.0) of Total War as I speak. I had been using TW 2.3a, before UO, then took it off, but I like it a lot. It seems more flexible than PRM. As soon as it comes out of Beta, I'm going to try it on my server. Look at the post by Irksome on the home page of CoDAdmin for more info, including pointers to VS-UKs 3.0 Beta1 server.
