There are players in my server already playing. But when other's try to connect (still spaces left in server) they are timed out after about a minute. Is it a problem there end or a problem that could be solved my end?

I would say that if people are on and playing, and you have open slots still availiable, then the issue may be on their end.

I have the same problem with some players joining. Also when the map changes, 1 or 2 players that were already playing will time out starting the new map?? :? This will happen about 1 in 3 maps.

Same problem here with our UO servers. We have some players that can get into our COD servers (Linux) with no issues but time out on the UO servers (Linux)
They have good pings 100 or below, but get halfway through the load screen and time out. If I watch them their pings take a momentary spike just as the time out message comes through the console.

Ok got it.
Add this line to your default.cfg in your UO folder:

set sv_timeout "900"

The value "900" you can play with.I belive that it is in seconds.
The regular players on our servers who were having timeout issues are now cool

ok, have 2 pcs, on my main pc i have my adsl modem plugged into it, i share my adsl over my network to my second pc where i host a dedicated server. i have a firewall on my main pc, mcafee.... its configured good enough so that i share games/internet with 2nd pc absolutely fine.
now, on the pc i host my server the problem is this: after 30-50 minutes, with 6 full slots that have been full for the duration i stated, it suddenly TIMES PLAYERS out, i mean EVERYONE but me. Now im really frustrated, as this happens everytime, 4 times since i started hosting. it's as if there's a sudden sucking of my bandwidth that does this, although i DONT know this is happening(i have nothing like a log of my bandwidth usage). i have XP on both pc's the 2nd pc (where i host server)has an Athlon xp 1900+512 RAM, my main pc has Athlon xp 2600+1024 RAM. the dedicated server i host has these basic settings: pure/yes, dedicated/internet, punkbuster/no, players/6, rate/4750. now i have a 512kbs D-L/256kbs U-L connection. i have done speed tests, and i average 242kbs upload. so i think for 5 players my maxrate of 4750 is ok? i do NOT allow downloading. I mean, what could course this? any ideas? i really would appreciate your help. i mean, it's a great little server and its like at these split points that it just times everyone out! if you need to know anything else as in INFO, ill send it ASAP, i would like to sort this problem out...thanks guys....i'm new here too, so a big "hello"
