server2003 wont install!!

UO wont install on server2003, only XP

any Ideas??

You don't 'install' the game on a server. You copy the appropriate files from a functioning client to the server, keeping the directory structure in-tact.

There are very FEW XP servers out in the world still, it would be insanity to require it.

ok, I think I might have just found it out but still working on it. Install it on your local machine, then copy the entire COD folder over to the server 2003. When you run it from the command line, it should run perfectly. I found out this is how my clan installed COD on Server 2003 so it should work for this as well.

I had a pretty easy time with Server 2003 actually.

1. Take an existing COD installation.
2. Insert Disk 1.
3. Copy the contents of \Setup\Data to the root of your COD folder.
4. Insert Disk 2.
5. Copy the contents of \Setup\Data to the root of your COD folder.
6. Run CoDUOMP.exe with the same paramters that you use with COD.

Not bad at all!

Still no idea why they blocked it.

yha this is the 3rd game i ran accross that will not let you install to 2003 note any game that runs on XP will work on 2003 but game companys do not want to give support out to 2003 thats why they limit it.

to get around this is not very hard

think all it does is check what version you are using right......

any way i have done it with manhunt, Doom3 and now UO
