I am hoping that we would only need to install the upgrade. I am still unclear as to how this will affect my config file. You will probably have to make some serious changes to your config file. Thankfully the people here at codadmin have supplied us with the necessary info inregrads to the cvars.

The original question is quite vague, but I will try to answer it anyway:

1) If you are renting from a game-server provider, you will need to talk to them about their plans to support UO.

2) If you have full access to your server (i.e. you can install software at will), then you still do not need to INSTALL UO in the normal way like you would as a client. All you need to do is copy the NEW files over from a good client install. Like this:

A) Install UO on your local gaming machine.
B) Upload any files that are NEW to your gaming machine's CoD directory to the SAME LOCATIONS on your servers CoD directory. It is important to keep directory structure in-tact. You don't need ALL the files (like doc files) but they wont hurt and are typically pretty small.
C) You will notice that one of the new files you uploaded is a new sever executable (for UO of course!).
D) Create a shortcut to the UO server executable.
E) Copy the command-line arguments from your normal CoD shortcut to the new UO server shortcut.
F) Copy your server config file (that you use in your command-line) over to the UO directory and edit it with the new maps and any other new setting you would like. Make sure it is saved in the UO directory!! Or you may break your regular CoD server configuration.
G) Double click the short-cut you made for the UO server, and with any luck she will come up.

I am in the process of uploading to my Windows 2000 Pro server right now, and I plan to follow the above steps. I will let you know if I run into any problems. :!:

Here is what I did today and it is up and running. By the way, I am running this on WinXP Pro.

Backed up my server config from COD.
Installed UO
Copied Dedicater Server startup commands from COD icon properties and pasted them to UO icon properties.
Added all new config information that was found in previous post in this forum to include new modes, vehicles, weapons, and maps.
Started up UO server.

Had 20 people in the game in less than 10 minutes and the server has been full all day long.

I am looking for info on suggested settings for the new modes. How many points is a good setting for CTF, what is a proper respawn time, etc. Any help with these new settings would be apprecitaed. I am just testing right now with some settings. Curious what others are using.

I would say that you need to copy all your COD United Offensive files over to the server. Then use the UO icon instead of the COD icon from before. You can run the dedicated server console by copying the same properties line from your old icon to your new one. Right click, properties, and copy the string after the .exe.

Sorry I can't be more help myself. I am running my game servers on WinXP Pro and not Windows Server. But it should work the same and the above was mentioned by others that I have seen in my browsing of the forums.
