Need help creating a working Pk3 that changes weapon sounds

Hey! I need some help here. First off I should tell you I DO have a program that makes zip files and a program that makes .Pk3 files.

I found 3 sound mods for Call of Duty. I only liked a few sound mods out of every sound mod (for different weapons) so I wanted to make another .Pk3 that contained all of these sounds in one .Pk3 file.

Well, I made a .Pk3 file, put it in a zip folder (along with a .txt file) and extracted my .Pk3 file into my CoD main folder.

The sound mod doesn't work. What am I doing wrong? Is there something special that I forgot?

did u get (in the pk3) the directories right:
sounds
weapons
nameofweapon
then sound files

example:
sounds/weapons/colt45/reload.wav

Actually I did not know how to do anything EXCEPT create a Pk3 and a zip file. Wasn't sure there was a certain directory to link the files in the Pk3 to.

Is this directory in the COD folder? I never saw such folder(s) in Call of Duty before. Please provide more information.
