codauthorize Problem plz help

hi

the linux based server is working fine on lan and you can connect from the internet. but if sombody will connect from the net he gets the message cd key is in use !!!i thik it is a codauthorize problem.

that happens during the codauthorize.

Resolving codmaster.activision.com
codmaster.activision.com resolved to 63.146.124.59:20510
Sending heartbeat to codmaster.activision.com
Resolving master0.gamespy.com
master0.gamespy.com resolved to 207.38.8.34:20510
Sending heartbeat to master0.gamespy.com
Resolving codauthorize.activision.com
codauthorize.activision.com resolved to 63.146.124.59:20500

is that all ?? or is somthing missing???
is there no reply after the last line ???

the first times someone connected he trys to connect by every player to the last address but now he dont.

for the windows version that is all you see. you don't get any reply (that is echoed to the console)

Not sure if there is a return port that needs to be open seeing as the request is created behind the router going out.

I would post your question in the Linux news letter. Lots of good info being tossed around. You can find the email address from the news post on the front page.

There is no response from the line codauthorize.activision.com. At least on mine anyway. What does your cod directory look like. Which files are where?

i have no connection to the 63.146.124.59:20500 anyway. i have opend the ports 20500 20510 28960 28961. i cant see any packets in my firewall log to 63.146.124.59:20500. what happends if a player is connecting to your server. is the server connecting to the 63.146.124.59:20500 ??? my server only resolve this address but nothig else.

if i close the port 20510 i get a error message:
NET_SendPacket ERROR: Operation not permitted to 63.146.124.59:20510

but if i close the 20500 there is no error !!

he does not connect to that ip 63.146.124.59:20500

your client only uses the activision or gamespy servers (port 205xx) to find you. This is how the cod game server list is generatred when you view internet games.

Once they click on your server they connect directly to port 28960 on your box running CoD

there are no difference betwen codmaster.activision.com and codauthorize.activision.com. are they both for the browser list???

Whats about the authorization for the cd keys??

They resolve the same IP but use two different ports

codmaster is the master game server this is what the in game browser uses to see public (internet) game servers

codauthorize is used to validate your copy of COD
