Can't unban a player

OK,


One of our members got banned though HLC, Reason given to player "admin ban". We have made ever attemt to un ban this player with HLC and with the ban.txt in CoD files.

This is only a temp. fix. He gets rebanned on a daily basis. So we unbanned him with HLC and uninstalled HLC, In hopes that this would solve the problem.

Well he is still getting banned, without HLC installed.... But HLC is the only way to unban him.

Any Ideas? are we missing something? This is become a constant problem with this member.... And I hate to see it happen.

You need to unban him as youve been doing, but then immediately issue the update PB banned list command... hang on let me find it...crap what'd i do with it... hey Angelfire, do you remember the command to update the PB banned file list? -- he's finding it, hang on...ok, here it is:

pb_sv_updbanfile

That will update the master pb server banned list.

Got it? Good!

That did not solve the problem. He is still getting banned. Not sure what to do. I have tried everything. Only way to unban is with HLC. IF HLC is removed from the server he gets banned, he even gets banned with it on the server..... But he always turns up on the HLC list.

OK, now I'm confused. .. :?

This player was banned from YOUR server, right? Not one of HolyLand Clan's servers (my clan)?? When you say HLC, you are referring to the HLC RCON utility, right?

The HLC RCON utility doesn't keep it's own banned player list. It only acts as an interface between the admin and the server.

You need to:

1) Download the banned player Punkbuster log file from your server.
2) View the log and find the player's name and GUID. Record it EXACTLY as it is in the log.
3) Join the server and use the punkbuster console commands to unban the player. Immediately after doing so, you need to run the command to update the banned player list as described in my previous post.
4) Exit the server and download the banned list from your server again and confirm the player is no longer in it.


If he still is, you can manually edit the punkbuster banned list by deleting the player's entry, saving it, and reloading it to your server.
