Hello all,

I am thinking of colo-ing my dedicated server and reselling bf3 servers. I do not represent a company yet, however when i would be selling servers as a service i would be.

I am making a post to see how price elastic is the gaming market towards the prices for the battlefied 3 servers.

Therefore my question is:

Would you switch your current bf3 provider (uk) for me, if my prices were £10 for 16 slots, £20 for 32 and £40 for 64?

server specifications: 2 x 16 cores of 2.1ghz, 32gb ram, 1gbit uplink.... a 16 slot server would get 1 core dedicated, 32 slots, gets 2 cores dedicated and 64 slots gets 3 cores dedicated for running the game service.

This is a little out of date and doesn't include some $0.89/slot discount promos, but check out this list for competitive pricing:

I think you'd have to do a lot better than $0.99/slot (approx. using currency converter) given no track record in the BF3 community and unspecified level of support. If you can offer less than $0.89/slot, I think you'd find some takers.

Presumably this is for ranked servers and you are already factoring in EA/DICE licensing costs? Those fees plus colo and OS fees put a lower bound on your price.

It did not occur to me to base pricing upon usa pricing,
£0.63 = $0.99
£0.57 = $0.89

so i should set at this pricing monthly-->
£0.50 = $0.78

and $0.74 per slot if payed quarterly.

and roughly $0.69 if payed annually.

my colocation cost i can not reveal , but it includes os and ea costs + Power + bandwith + games panel .

A heads up. It is very difficult to become a bf3 rsp. Dice has to approve first and several have been turned down.
