Thought this was too funny from an Official Xbox Magazine UK Article (http://www.oxm.co.uk/35614/features14-ways-to-spot-a-call-of-duty-player-in-battlefield-3/) & for the COD fans out there - think this is just a lil sarcastic humor btw (ok, laced with some truth IMO...lol) :p
14 ways to spot a Call of Duty player in Battlefield 3
Other than by looking at the bottom of the leaderboards
We love Call of Duty multiplayer, and we've got nothing against those who play it, occasional screaming matches with Belgian teenagers notwithstanding. But there's no denying that Activision's online community (reportedly the "best in the world") has its... peculiarities. Peculiarities that might be gently mocked for shizzles and gizzles.
Playing Battlefield 3, a shooter that targets roughly the same audience in a rather different way, you've probably noticed some players aren't getting into the spirit of things. Anybody who ticks half the boxes below is a Modern Warfarer to the bone. (We'll do another feature nearer Modern Warfare 3's launch telling you how to spot a Battlefield player in Call of Duty. Feel free to make suggestions.)
1. They're trying to use a shotgun like a rifle
DICE's shotguns are overpowered, as detailed in our launch week Battlefield 3 tips piece, but they're not that overpowered. Engage an enemy from over 30 feet away and you might as well throw balls of screwed-up tissue paper. Or your recently perforated intestines.
2. They're trying to stab people from the front
Not only have you brought a knife to a gunfight, you've whipped that knife out under the nose of a man wearing a Kevlar T-shirt in the earnest conviction that you can stab his meat off before he pulls the trigger of his pistol. And now you're dead. It was always going to end like this. How deranged would you have to be to design a game where knives beat guns? Oh right.
3. They're trying to navigate Operation Firestorm on foot
Those maps are big, lads. Big. Larger than your living room, as in. And those early objectives can topple pretty fast. By the time you reach the action, the action will be somewhere else.
4. They don't understand vehicles...
"Why's that Care Package got propellers? How come this RC car's so big? Oh my god, it ate that guy. IT ATE HIM."
5. ...Unless they're tanks
"Wait, this one's got a big gun on it. Guns are for kills, kills are for killstreaks, big guns are for bigger killstreaks. All has become crystal clear."
6. ...And they'll never wait for passengers
"Screw you, hippy! I was here first. Now I'm going to hang out behind these rocks with my real friends, the other team's Engineers. Hey, these damage indicators are pretty hilarious. Can't seem to shift those caterpillar tracks no more. If only I could dual-wield the steering wheel and that top-mounted machine gun."
7. They'll never spot people...
"Why the hell should I let you know where the enemy is? You might shoot him first."
8. ...because they're guided by Death
"Make yourself useful. Go get killed somewhere so I've got something to run towards on my radar."
9. They're using a rocket launcher on infantry
All that time spent exploiting One Man Army for infinity-rockets has left committed Call of Duty players incapable of handling any gun that isn't a tube. And they're not going to be deterred by a little thing like hardly ever being able to hit anyone.
10. They're completely bowled over by the destruction
Pity the Call of Duty veteran. For years he's been imprisoned in a tyrannically unchanging environment, devoid of breakable objects. For years, he's had to content himself with disappearing bullet holes. Now he's got Frostbite 2 to play with, a game engine that allows you to flay walls apart like bath foam. It must be like waking up to find that all the women you know have had a boob job.
11. They never want ammo or health
"GTFO, dude. I don't need your leftovers. Besides, I plan on dying long, long before I ever run out of rounds."
12. ...And they never give you ammo or health
"Sorry son, I've done all I can. Just glancing at you in passing has cost me precious milliseconds I could have spent sprinting heedlessly into an ambush."
13. They'll squad-spawn into crossfire
Bless. He must think respawning knocks all nearby enemies flat, like in certain coin-op beat 'em ups. Do your best to stay out of trouble. For his sake.
14. They're playing Team Deathmatch
And if they are, that means you are too. You filthy traitor. Get back to Conquest before we send in the attack dogs.
Time to turn the tables. What sins are Battlefield players guilty of, Call of Duty fans?

I read some of those and think BF must be made up of a majority of CoD players. Guess that's what happens when you make a game that tries to get COD player to switch.

Yep - not only that but just a lot of "rookies" - BF games do take a while to get used to, mainly the idea that K/D ratio isnt really relevant, at least not for Objective Games. Im still seeing guys trying to camp - not even flag areas - and end up on bottom of leaderboard at full round time having only killed and nothing else

I still think that squad VoIP would encourage more of team work ethic especially going for objectives.

Well if those players really are from COD then VOIP would probably just result in the common "your mom [put whatever here]" :D
EDIT: My post refers to COD players on Consoles.

That's funny, specially coming from someone who played COD for how many years?

Full trolling mode on i see. Rich.
Was referring with humor to a humor thread and making reference to the many kids one does get on VOIP (Consoles which is what this article is aimed at).

Nah I don't think so. I have played both BF and COD for many years now and on PC both sets of groups are not all shouting "mom" put downs lol. I think this is a perception we get from consoles rather than PC. Although, I will add that CS:S was and probably still is pretty bad on certain servers for that kind of behaviour.
A good server admin, VoIP controls would sort anything like that out.

Not trolling one bit, just finding your post very funny, that's all.

lmfao.. ahh good one. :D
Well how about this one... the COD players are the ones upset all the time because they are used to a game that does not lock up every 5 minutes and cause an entire system reboot..... or how about the the COD players are the ones mad becuase they are spawning right next to the enemy half the time and are getting killed instantly... they are used to a spawn system that actually works..... or how about the COD players are upet because many servers are lagging and the developer is beating their chest about how they have "fixed" it.
Don't get me wrong, I am beyond upset with IW and Treyarch... but after playing this game for a week you have to be a complete fanboy to not say BF3 has SERIOUS issues......
It LOOKS and SOUNDS better than any game I have played, but game play is just horrible, and in the end for the players, game play trumps graphics......
They have LESS THAN A WEEk to get things stable..... then the hammer will drop. Like it or not.

BO is on its 16th patch and still has unstability... MW2.. well, they just stopped patching after a while. Your post is so on topic and relevant
Come on Zeroy.... This is FK for crying out loud... I am not a fanboy of either. I bought BF3 and have logged countless hours on it. BUT you can not deny the fact that BLOPS had no where NEAR the issues when it went live that BF3 has.
You guys need to take the glasses off and start being objective here.
People want to PLAY the game, regardless of whch they feel is "best". I am sitting in EA's corner here....
Or I guess you are right.. I am not on topic, since the topic is ignore the trainwreck that is BF3 and take shots at COD players.... sorry to crash your party on that one.
Now a final word and I will leave your thread so you guys can have some more "fun".
Do you guys see these type of posts as productive? What has happened to the community? When I first started in MOHAA we were a community, we did nto eat each other for lunch. We did not poke fun of pc players who played one game over the other. Pardon me for throwing water on your thread but this type of stuff is very bothersome to me. Not because I am a COD fanboy..... I am a pc player... a long time modder.... I enjoy FPS games, and used to enjoy the community.
Time for us to ease up on the COD vs BF3 stuff guys...... really.
peace out...

[Disclaimer: I have not played BF3 nor am I likely to until they iron out what I see as major flaws - obtained from other players I know. If they never do, I never play it.]
Wow, couldn't agree more. While the original article may have been made in mocking jest, you only have to go over to the UK EA forums to see how polarised the "community" is.
It's like Apple fanbois versus Microsoft fanbois. You are either with us or against us. COD players are belittled, Battlefield players are deified and DICE can do no wrong. It's rather sad, but probably points more to the mentality of the players than it does to the franchises.
My own assessment, agrees with others. Battlefield 3 was a cynical attempt to attract more COD players and whether this will be successful in the long run no one knows yet. This has to some degree caused the increased animosity towards COD players, IMO.
A lot of players feel betrayed by DICE/EA, but have to realise that this company is in it for the dollars, not your loyalty. They may spout marketing mumbo-jumbo about the franchise of Battlefield and remaining true to their "fans", but when all is said and done, like an owner of an NBA team, they can pack their franchise up and move to wherever it makes them money, at any time.

I think a lot of people would disagree with you in regards to BO being better than BF3 on launch. A lot of people had issues with the BO being laggy/rubber banding all over the place, including myself. That's not to say I am saying that BF3 is in a better situation at launch than BO was or vice versa. People need to realise that games are pushed out the door kicking and screaming when they are not ready, even games such as RO2. MW3 will be no different.
So yes lets stop the COD vs BF, RO vs BF, CoD vs RO etc. and enjoy the games if they are your preference.

Thats my beef. On what basis are you making this statement? Because from where im sitting, beside the very occasional disconnect from server I have ZERO issues with BF3. Im assuming you are talking from personal experience and this is where I pointed out that BO has a proven track record of stability and performance issues with 16 patches so far (they are working on another). Every serious gamer knows by now that every AAA release has its share of problems however in forums and stats we can see that BF3 has had so far quite a smooth ride on the PC! And the ninja patching is weekly so far. BO was/is monthly at best.
As for taking shots at COD, i am not. I will remind you that I am to this day a COD fan, i still dedicated a lot of time to the game, not playing perhaps but other things like modding/mapping/server help. The OP is a fun post, not one to see too seriously.... As they say themselves they will do a Battlefield player in COD so....
Finally, you very post is as much part of this community problem if you ask me, we all feel strongly about the values we knew we had and are losing fast.
/peace out
