Netgear router problems

How do i get into my netgear rp114 router? i type 192.168.0.1 to access the router's setup, but it will ask for a passwrod and user and i have never set it before, so my question is how do i get into my router to change the ports so i can get my server to stay up?


Me and a few friends will play on it with no lag ( 350 mhz computer with 128 ram NO LAG) lol but it will kick him off and then he wont see my server but it the server will never drop or lose connection, so im guessing its the router i got that is blocking anyone that connects to my server.

Please help cause i dont know how to access my router (netgear) and what ports do i need to open or close to get my server up and stay up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :? :?: :x( :x

If your friend plays on your server fine for a while and then gets "kicked off", then it's not a port problem.. If it were a port problem, he wouldn't be able to connect at all. It sounds to me like it might be a game configuration problem.... For example punkbuster needs to be updated or something.

I suppose it could still be problem with the router, but if it is then it's probably a real bug in the router's firmware. I suggest getting the latest firmware for your router and installing it. (see info below for more on that)

What is the error message (if any) that your friend is getting?

well when anyone is in my room they will have a ping of around 30 or so and we will be playing, then out of now where it will boot him and it will show that hes is laggin out?
So my question is what should my settings be set at for a smaller server that will hold around 10 people and how should i set it up then cause i dont know what this problem is?
