I need help with my new server i built

I have an old computer im making for a few of my friends and i to play COD, we all have cable, but i have a hard time getting out to the internet with the server, i have a netgear RP114 (model #) but i cannot get inside the router setup to open or close any ports. my and a friend have pladed on it a few times but then sometimes he cant find it (my guess is the firewall in the router im using). How do i disable it? and how do i get people to visti my server cause i cant get traffic into my server yet. If you have any ideas on how i can solve my probelm let me know asap. thanks again

I had a similar problem with mine like you are haveing. I have a DLink and i have to setup ports for both on my router and my pc. from the information that i found you have to set up as many ports as you are setting the server for the amount of people to allow to play at any given time. for ex... if you are starting the Server for 20 people then you must have ports open for Activision i think they are 20510 and 20511 most comon ports for the servers communication is 28960. so if you are going to have 20 people the ports 28960 through 28979 need to be open. after doing this it worked for me. there is a web site that i use to make sure my server is running you can also use it to find your frinds and see were they are playing. http://inherent.infinityward.com/
