what to do?

i have a computer with linux running, is there a call of duty linux server client that i can download that doesnt require the game to be installed on the machine? if so could you please say so and post a link to it.

Sorry, there is no Linux client. There is only a Windows client, and the Windows client is of course not free.

You would need to install the Windows port for Linux, then install CoD on it and play from there. I can't remember the name of the program that does that, but I know there's one or more out there that does it (I've used it back when I did Linux testing for a company I worked for. There's also WINE, but I don't think there's a port of CoD client that works with it.

Maybe one of the Linux guru's (to which I haven't been for a long time) will be able to provide more details about that...
