Hi there
Is there somehow I can turn down the speed in which people run on our server? Feels like I'm playing Quake

well, if it's like Wolfenstein, you can manipulate the gravity with g_gravity. Watch 'em fly :P
As for speed.. hmm.. I'm drawing a blank right now. ...

No I am of the opinion that the movement speeds are way to fast. We also run SH and BT servers and when we come back to play on them we feel like we are a bunch of slugs. We play all our games stock so unless the default speeds are changed we are stuck with it but it would be nice to have the option.

I believe (don't quote me on this though - i'm at work and can't check) that g_speed will speed up/slow down movement...just like sv_runspeed in MOH......default is 190, i think our server has it at 150....

I'm not actually sure if the speeds are wrong ... am more of the opinion that its the animations, which appear much faster than the actual speed of movement.

Runspeed for RTCW is seta g_speed "320" I had that set in one of the first servers I put up and it was way to fast.
If you don't specify a speed I think it will run at default.
280 is a guess?

The default is 190 as Ruiner said. The default sv_runspeed in MOHAA is 250, Spearhead is 287. I think the different with CoD is that the weapon scripts are setting up multipliers greater than 1 where in MOHAA they were less than 1.

It's probably close in MOHAA terms. But it's like comparing apples and oranges because the modifiers to the run speed are different in both games.

It was set to 200 for some reason, I set it to 180. Gonna do a little playing later to see how it works out, and adjust it accordingly :smile:

We played through a full round of maps with the run speed set at 150, 160, 170, and 180. 170 actually came out to be the preferred favorite with my players. Feels much more natural than the default 190.

We have ours set at 160 at the moment on {PJG} Project Juno Gold server. Seems to be just about right for all of us ex-MOHAA players.

I tried altering g_gravity but on every single round the damn thing resets itself to default.
set g_gravity 1600 is about right to stop the bunnyhopping but again it resets itself on round change.
set g_speed I haven't tried as yet but I get the funny feeling it will do the same as gravity and reset itself.

Check you config_mp.cfg file and see if the g_gravity is different there.

First, the run speed made me feel like I am on Acid. So I decided to make a mod for that, actually a realism mod, I matched the animation to the speed. COD default per weapon is 1.13, the new setting i have made, make each weapon accept for the nades, pistols and BAR at .85
I made a mod that changes run speed for each weapon, sv_dmspeedmult was the mohha command. Does not work in Cod.
get it at http://wayoutwest.ugs1.com/mods/MMSrealism.zip unzip, put in main folder on server, restart server. then your good. Only 110k. You need to have set cl_allowDownload on for clients to recieve it.

In reguards to all the gravity and the speed settings. I have tried all of them. Gravity is the same as mohaa. In MOHAA, they made a cvar for the speed. In CoD, they encapsulated the speed with the weapon. I fixed that..
