New AMD/ATI Reference Drivers

AMD now offers new version 11.8 Catalyst reference drivers for AMD/ATI graphics cards. The highlight of the new release is the addition of overclocking for AMD Black edition CPUs to AMD Overdrive. The new drivers are available for Windows 7 & Windows Vista 32-bit (http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/radeon_win7-32.aspx), Windows XP 32-bit (http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/radeon_xp-32.aspx), Windows 7 & Windows Vista 64-bit (http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/radeon_win7-64.aspx), and Windows XP 64-bit (http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/radeon_xp-64.aspx). There is also a AMD Catalyst Hotfix for “No compatible hardware found” error on AGP graphics cards (http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/CatalystAGPHotfix.aspx). Here are the performance highlights:

Improves performance up to 10% in Crysis 2 DirectX 11 version for both non-Anti-Aliasing, and application enabled Anti-Aliasing cases on the AMD Radeon™ HD 6000 and AMD Radeon™ HD 5000 Series
Improves performance up to 8% in Fear 3 DirectX 11 version with application enabled Anti-Aliasing on the AMD Radeon™ HD 6000 and AMD Radeon™ HD 5000 Series
Improves performance up to 30% when AMD’s Morphological Anti-Aliasing (MLAA) is enabled through the Catalyst™ Control Center on the AMD Radeon™ HD 6000 and AMD Radeon™ HD 5000 Series
Improves performance up to 20% in Call of Duty Black Operations for single GPU and Multi-GPU configurations on the AMD Radeon™ HD 6000 and AMD Radeon™ HD 5000 Series

EDIT: I installed these yesterday (was at 11.4) and they seem to work well for me (on my XFX 5770) and BC2 seemed smoother - but did also get a ~10 FPS boost from them I believe (trying to remember where I was before...lol)
