Question about BF3 Heli's..if anyone knows.

Diehard helicopter pilot..at least all the way from the original BF:V to BF:2142.. Hated the helicopters in BC2. Mainly the controls were dumbed down way too much. Does anyone know if the helicopters in BF3 will be like those in BC2? or maybe more like BF2? (I can only hope)

I don't remember them addressing this - but my guess is somewhere in between. In other words try to reward the skilled / experienced pilot but still make it "approachable" for the new pilots.

I spent hours in empty servers learning to fly. One thing to be able to take off and land. Being effective on the battlefield is a whole other ball game. Half the time I flew jets I think I was just a moving target to lend atmosphere to the game...

I was hopeless at fly them to be honest lol. I was much better at the gun ships in 2142 though :)

In BF2 it was an art :cool: - I must admit that when Ace Pilots started to appear a server could become extremely annoying with "death from above" for infantry... The F35B being very weak wasnt helping of course but from what i hear BF3 will have a lot more Ground-to-Air weapons as well as more balanced jets!!

By the way, the secret in BF2 for both Jets and Helis was/is to use a Joystick!!

Same here. I'd sit the heli on the hotel in Gulf of Omen and practice for hours using the TVGM, and got pretty damn good at it..

Did you ever do any 2vs2 heli tournaments? we did a lot on TWL. It was a blast.

Looking at the Caspian Border video they fly A LOT like BC2. I can fly either but if I had to choose one it would be the BF2 handling. They made BC2 easier for consoles to fly, that's all :D
