CodFiles (http://www.codfiles.com/file.info?ID=19069) has a video of Jason West, Chief Technological Officer for Infinity Ward and Lead on the Call of Duty project. He talks about multiplayer, an interesting anti-cheat built into the game, and when the game will go gold (he said "a couple of weeks.)."

I think they missed a golden opportunity here ... whilst the 7 second kill cam is an interesting idea, what is needed is an objective as opposed to subjective anti cheat measure!
Shame ... hope pure works, that would be a start.

Wonder if the kill-cam mode can be turned off in clanwars. It's a nice feature for public play, but a potential tactics-killer in clanwars.

ya lost me. how is a kill cam supposed to be anti-cheat? I thought it was an anti-camping device, such that you know where that pesky sniper shot from, etc.

Because you can see if someone shot you through a wall or under the map or from any place that shouldn't be accessible, etc

With kill-cam, you can see how the kill was made. It will resolve questions of wallhacks, fog hacks, and aimbots. Did they track you through a wall? Could they see you through the fog? Was the kill always a headshot? It will allow you to take screenshots and send them to the game admin. Yes, it is anti-camper (which for a sniper sucks), but it introduces a level of legitimacy into the game. When you know that you were fragged without cheating, you are more likely to accept it. I can see some abuse, but if the game admin REQUIRES screenshots, then there shouldn't be a problem.

well, quite a few of us will find it very refreshing. statistically, if there was a 50 on 50 man server, *maybe* one guy would have a sniper riufle. maybe.
just no place for it in the game really. sorry.

Well, what it does is FORCES the team to think tactically. If you want a sniper, you have to protect him. Simple as that. The kill-cam will expose the sniper, so the sniper must constantly move. Think about it. You frag someone across the map. Move to another location and watch your previous one. You frag the person that comes after you....move to another location....frag the next person.
Yeah, it will require you to think about what you do. But then, you become part of the team and CoD is all about teams.

The biggest problem with snipers in MOH is they never moved. Without a kill cam you still had an idea where the sniper shot you from.
With the kill cam, it will force a sniper to act like one. Shooting from a concealed spot then moving to another never taking two shots in the same spot.
Smart snipers will play the game like pool. when picking a spot, they will have to think, where to go next.
I am looking forward to suckering people in, with the kill cam. Pick a spot. get a kill. Then when the player tries to come back and take me out. I have already moved to another location overlooking my previous one.

I think the kill cam is a good idea and maybe will add some fun to the games, but if you can't shut it of...well not good. Hoping PB will be in it. It would be rally nice. I really don't wanna babysit another game for 2 years :x
But I have a good feeling about this. IW seems like a nice bunch of guys so I think the support will be great. Hoping anyways. :!:

Just read this in another forum:
"For those of you who are worried about Kill-Cam for hardcore league matches, we will add a server side switch to turn it off. This won't come out of the box, since the game is basically finished, but we will make a patch available for this the day the game ships.
Whoever said we don’t love our peeps? =)

Infinity Ward"
So no more worries, it will be optional
