View Full Version : E3 2011: John Riccitiello (Interview)
An interesting interview with John Riccitiello on Gametrailers in regards to Battlefield 3. I'll let you watch to see/hear for yourself:

Great interview, thank for sharing, I think he said all of the right things, he finally actually said, "we won't outsell them, but we'll take a good chunck of market share from them" he's also very confident that BF3 will "crush" MW3 on the PC market, that'll be a win-win for them and PC players, the attention that this brings to the PC platform is only beneficial. Another dig at Elite, "59.99 is the price, everything else should be free" again the right approach. Finally, I think we can safely assume that MOH and BF (and maybe Crysis) will be taking turns on the yearly release cycle, which is again another positive. I don't know much about this guy, only knew him by name before this E3, but he comes across as an angel next to Kotick.
PS: IMO worth a news post.

Very interesting and frank interview, he doesnt cut corners :)
I think all that he said is very realistic, BF3 has indeed a good chance at taking COD Franchise a notch or three. It can only be good for the industry, not that i wish the demise of the COD Franchise, far from it, but might push ATVI to re-assess the all scenario!
It is a nice interview but I am under no illusions that once (or if) Battlefield becomes a billion dollar selling franchise that this attitude could change.
However, it was refreshing that he mentioned about releasing Battlefield most years and not annually. As I mentioned before DICE need a Call of Duty 4 success before hitting the big time.
