Well with more and more games using steamworks it does paint a bigger bullseye on steam.

Even a few polls on EAUK forums asking DICE to use Steamworks thus requiring steam:

I like steam but honestly I don't want all games to use it. Don't like the "all my eggs in one basket" approach.
