I have been working on a mod for COD2 for the past 3 months. Why work on a mod for a 5 year old game you might ask. Well, I did it mainly for the technical challenge, seeing as COD2 doesn't have nearly the same level of multiplayer functions of the COD4 engine. I wanted to see how many of the later COD stuff like perks and killstreaks I could get into COD2 1.0 before I ran out of gamestate (COD2 1.0 only has 16k of gamestate). I was amazed at how much you can get into it before it broke.
Here are a couple of preview videos:

I am particularly proud of the sprinting animations and the binoculars. Only the Officer class has binoculars, and getting only 1 player to have them in the mod was a real challenge in COD2, because the game engine forces every player to have them. The viewmodel was taken from World at War with the aid of Blender (so no piracy of Maya needed).
There are 6 Classes:
Assault
Engineer
Gunner
Sniper
Medic
Officer
There is a very comprehensive class limiter which isn't based on the choice of weapon. You can see how many available "slots" are left via the menu readout.
There are 15 Perks:
GROUP 1
========
1. specialty_weapon_tripwire
2. specialty_weapon_betty
3. specialty_weapon_stickybomb
4. specialty_weapon_satchel_charge
5. specialty_weapon_tabungas
GROUP 2
========
1. specialty_bulletdamage
2. specialty_detectexplosives
3. specialty_armorvest
4. specialty_firstaid
5. specialty_tactical_insertion
Group 3
========
1. specialty_grenadepulldeath
2. specialty_longersprint
3. specialty_explosivedamage
4. specialty_hardline
5. specialty_scavenger
Obviously, as with most mods, all of these perks can be optioned off via dvars.
There were some very steep technical challenges getting these perks to work in COD2, in particular Bomb Squad - it took a few weeks to iron out the problems. However, some of the perks slotted in real easy - in particular Stopping Power, as it is a scripted perk rather than a perk dependent on the game engine.
I had enormous fun making this mod. More than I have for later COD games. Version 1.0 of the mod will be out very soon, and there is a separate version for COD2 1.0 and 1.3.
