Hi All,
I download many steam games/patches regularly on my computer, however I have a download limit of either 20GB or 40GB down per month. I try to avoid downloading patches and games at home and normally download this stuff on my laptop at college where there is no limit, and transfer the zip/installer file to my desktop.

However I can't do this for certain steam/games patches as I am not sure if there is a way to download a game/patch on my steam account in college on my laptop and somehow transfer it to my gaming desktop for installing like other installer files.

So my question is, can this be done in any way?
Any replies would be appreciated, thanks.

(Sorry, I could not find a more suitable place in the fpsadmin forum for this post but I have posted on steam forums to no response).

This atricle from Steam shows how to updtae all the games on internet Cafe machines so I am going to assume this will work for you. Laptop being the server.

On your server machine when you are ready to run updates simply double click on the update.bat file and it will go to each individual computer and transfer the server’s steamapps folder to each client machine.

I guess it just basically copy/pastes your steamapps folder which you can of course do manually.

Thanks for that article link. I will read it now and give it a go when I'm back in College.
