call of duty server sv_hostname character limit

I notice when the game lists our server, the name I put in for sv_hostname is cut off, yet other servers listed have longer names. I've had to shorten ours.
How are you able to expand on the character limit for this cvar?

It's the same for everyone.

Some people use special characters which of course will cause your name to be "cut off" if you have too many. The name is actually there, the in-game browser is just simply not showing it because of column width restrictions.

Post the value you're trying to use for sv_hostname.

It seems since 1.4, the servers are not getting listed properly. The A's are to bring it to top.
I was hopeing to have it all show up in the game browser. Oh well, can't have everything! Thanks for your reply.

It seems to be a problem with the " ^" part for the last word you have. I notice other servers having a similar problem. Try using :

"^0AAAAAAAAAA^1[99th] ^7ASTAG Battlegrounds"

I don't use any extra color codes for our server (other then in the beginning) and our complete name, which is longer then yours, appears in full.
