I've set up one CoD2 and one CoD4 server on my PC and forwarded the needed ports. The CoD2 server is running at port 28960 while the CoD4 server is running at port 28961. But I can only get my CoD2 server show up in the master list (xfire). Help pls.

How long have the servers been up and running.
I have heard it can take a while, like a day or so, for them to show up sometimes.

Both of them have been running for more than 3 days.

P.S. Players can connect to my servers through IP without any problem.

How long does it take for you guys' servers to show up after enabling console? I've heard someone's server only took less than 5 minutes to show up in master list.

My CoD2 server always show up after about 48 hours. There must be something wrong with my servers.

One thing I'm still wondering is that the net_ip dvar of my either server must be set to my PC's internal IP, not the external IP stated in most dedicated server guides. Otherwise no one can connect to my server, including myself, no matter through internal or external IP. But if I set it to my PC's internal IP, I can connect through both internal and external IP. And other players can connect through its external IP.

I don't know whether this has something to do with the master list problem. Hope someone with server benind a router can clear this up for me.

Forgot to mention that the dedicated dvar is set to 2 on both servers.

Make sure the following ports are open on your router.

UDP 20800
UDP 20810
UDP 28960

I think one of those is for the master servers.

P.S.
I feel silly because I googled this info when it was right here in this forum, well, a link to it was.

Via the sticky thread in this forum called Dedicated Server Installation Guide (http://www.fpsadmin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14255), I found my way to the following guide. http://brutalstuff.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=55:home-pc-server-setup&catid=34:cod4-modern-warfare&Itemid=55

Read it thoroughly and life should be good for you and your new home based server.

Thanks for your information mate.

My last post was wrong. I didn't set the net_IP dvar in the command line. I left it out so that the server automatically assign it to localhost. It was recommend by someone in an old thread for COD2. I'll try to set it to the internal IP on CoD4 server.
