Those running servers, do you have lag?

I have a dedicated server and I have horrible lag and warping with my BC2 servers. Doesn't matter if it's 1 server running or 2. they both lag/warp really bad. I have been on plenty other servers and never notice the warping lag. My teammates have said the same thing.

does anyone else seen this problme with your dedicated server or single game server?


My server specs are:

Intel Core i7 860
4 GB ram
250 GB SATA Hard drive
100 mbit line

who is the server with? Id do a traceroute to it and submit it to them and explain your problem.. see if that helps..

Nope no lag so far 32 slot with GS

I can also report no lag issues. You may have to get in touch with your GSP.

They may be having data centre issues or may have put too many games on your box. Other game I would recommend searching by IP to discover how many others you are sharing your box with. But IP's are not too easy to search with this game.
The question may be worth asking on the ISP's forum if they have one.

so far my server provider has blamed EA, but I don't think it's an EA issue. I'll give them another week to work on it, then I'll have to look for someone else.

It's the game.... you have a dedi? Pop another gametype on it like cod any version and fill it up, you wont have lag..................

reinstalling won;t cure it. It is something to do specifially with BC2, netcode or something other, possibly backend connections to indiviual players. noone knows.

The lag compliants come in to all GSP's and are random.

Some ppl say "WOW great servers no lag!" Others... "I have another Server from RSP X and it's not laggy but yours are.



That statement above in red is what all GSPs/RSP's are getting from clients but as I said it is a random issue.

Only time and patching will tell..

Personally I don';t experience lag on any server i play on. I do see other players warping around but it's not a server issue I see it as individual client side issues.

it's just frustrating. i've been on plenty of servers and never notice any lag/warp. but on mine, I'm seeing it everyday. Hell, I even have some team members who won't play on our servers now b/c it's gotten so bad.

the latest is the server provider has passed the issue to the 'Devs', whoever they are. Dice or the datacenter. not sure.

Nasty lag and warping with GS.com - goes away in 10-15 minutes. Theorizing it has something to do with the server slots. Just a hunch though.

Most servers I play in are laggy and shots hit people at random. My game client often reacts as if I killed them only to have the server say they killed me instead. I have seen very few servers that gave me smooth gameplay.

We have a good amount of clients with x3450's , 8GB DDR3 and are reporting issues with lag meanwhile there resources are well below 25% in every aspect.

The end results end up being "I have played on other servers and there is no lag". Every game server provider is reporting rubber banding issues if they say otherwise A. They run very few servers or B. They are not telling the truth.

yea, however I'm beginning to think it's either more with the game itself and NOT the server I have. I just doesn't make any sense. 1 full 32 player server, all alone on it's own dedicated server, should not lag/warp as bad as they do. I'm very frustrated by this. I've been running dedicated servers for my team for well over 7 years (with my first post here way back in 2004), and I've never seen this kind of problem.

Derek, if you read this, have you guys said anything to EA about this issue? If so, have they responded with anything?

I've just been bitched out by 5 of my teammates on how bad the lag is on our servers, only on our servers, so for all of you who have 32 player servers, and when full, are NOT having this warping issue, could you please send me a PM with your server provider.

update: just rented a new 32 player server from another host and NO rubberbanding/lag.
