make sure you "enable" PB prior to starting your server if you are just testing it from your own pc from the console

PB_SV_ENABLE

Heh.. yeah.. saw that post right after posting mine.. d'oh

The real question now is if/when EvenBalance will put out a default CoD config file so PB actually has something to check for on a person's server. 8-)

See if you can find them in a competition ladder since he looks like he's part of a team. Then report it to the ladder admins and also post the pic on the team's forums (if they have one).

Yes, I'm not very nice

I didn't see it written anywhere in the readme or in any posts here...

Can I get a confirmation that a client doesn't need to download any extra software besides the 1.4 patch itself to have punkbuster enabled.

I come from a Counter-Strike background and when punkbuster was supporting CS, PB was a separate client and server download. I'm hoping to hear that PB will be invisible to users and no separate program will need to be downloaded or started each time a user wants to play on our PB enabled server. (I haven't had a chance to install the patch on our server yet).'

Thanks.

PB comes with the 1.4 patch for the game. Any end user (client) simply has to enable PB from the multiplayer options menu.

There's another thread going here about how to enable PB on the server-side.

Good luck.

Yes he is in a league CAL

Readthis thread (http://forums.caleague.com/index.php?showtopic=6067) and tell me how lame that reasoning is.

How hilarious ... the guy was cheating and they are protecting each other now. PB RULZ! Guess that's one way to "speed-up the game" as so many competitive players have been grunting about. I really hope this is an isolated issue and the CAL folks take care of it as it should be!!!

The PB has spoken. All bemoaning for leniency will from now on go unheeded. Welcome to Punkbuster lamas.

It's why I still play ET and RtCW religiously. :!:

Interesting excuse; I rank it up there with "I accidently deleted my file(s)", "I can't find anything by that name", "I sent it to you already, didn't you get it?", and of course the 2 most infamous, "I had to reformat my system" and "my hard drive crashed".

lol

As Buzz would say, a cheat's a cheat...

I'm curious to see how many other "top" teams will "accidently" be caught using a cheat that "supposedly" is for another game. If I should ever loose my morals and decide to cheat myself, I'll have to remember his excuse...

It's pathetic, he cheated but the cheat occasionally crashed his computer :o so they forgave him. :x(

Reasoning like that should empty the CAL league pretty fast.

If it doesn't I'll be surprised. Or, convinced they all cheat in one way or another...

The worst cheat of all is the "head in the sand" cheat. It cheats on the integrity of everyone. <sigh>

PB shows no partiality - thank goodness.

I recall a bit of grumbling when PB was enacted on RtCW and ET. But after about the first week anyone using a hack (whether intentional or unintentional) stopped using them or went to servers that didn't run PB.

PB is not a cure all but more like a door lock. It will keep honest people honest but cheaters will always cheat.

I personally applaud them finding this and kicking it, but a certain level of leeway should be given at first since this is many's people first experience with PB. In time, those teams or players who depended on cheats to get to the top of the team ladders will fall off and be forgotten and won't stand a chance at competitions if/when CoD is included for competition play at such events as Quakecon.

That's correct. They can not.
