A strong hint towards the inclusion of dedicated servers in the upcoming Medal of Honor was noted in a recent aticle published online at atomic pc.

Vehicle combat was also hinted, and is probably to be expected with Dice in control of the multiplayer aspect of the game.

And then of course there's the multiplayer angle of the game, which has some obviously very stiff competition from the likes of MW2. Sean Decker, though, is very happy with the challenge ahead of him, and very aware of the stakes involved when it comes to PC multiplayer.

"It's going to be awesome," he says when we ask him about the game beyond the bounds of singleplayer, "and I'll say this up front - it has to have dedicated servers." Sean's passion for the topic is unmistakeable, and he goes on to make us feel very excited indeed about Medal of Honor's multiplayer.

"There's no worse experience than the lobby, and voting, and host migration, and all that. It's a bad experience." Which, of course we totally agree with. And, since we know the game's going to have vehicles in the campaign, we hit him up about vehicles in multiplayer levels.

"Well, with DICE involved," he says, grinning, "I think you can assume we're going to touch on vehicle combat just a little."

Amazing. It appears that EA sees a way to win their fans back from CoD.

This could be good or bad news depending on the type of dedicated server he is talking about.

Will the server files be public, or will they be locked down like BC2?

I am going to make an early prediction and say that the files will be locked down, and the MOH community rep will basically regurgitate what GVD has said about the "integrity of the game".

Why does it matter? Well, many in the community do not have a history with the BF series, so they are upset about how the servers will work with BC2, but they will either get over it or avoid BC2 and move on to waiting for another game.

Many more in the community have a history with the MOH series and they will absolutely howl when and if they learn that MOH servers will have restricted access.

And if it's Dice, what about leaning and proning?

Huge gaming elements missing in BC2.

And Modtools ...... I would also go for a no in that category unless they have spare time between BFBC2 and MOH to work on a public friendly SDK for the Frostbite Engine....

That's a design choice specific to the intended game play pace of the Bad Company series, at least when it pertains to prone. Battlefield never had lean.

I think things will be fine when it comes to the servers. I just cant see EALA letting dice lock down the MP that much, at least right now.

Leaning was never a part of a BF title. So in all fairness its not missing from the game. Prone on the other hand.... Im sitting on the fence on that one. Whilst its nice to not have all the dolphin diving that previous titles had I still miss it in for sniping and hiding.

No its not that huge. That is a personal preference and it won't effect how popular the game will be. I do miss prone, but it won't stop me from buying the game.

After the MW2 debacle, you have all the COD guys coming over to BC2 now. They want all the same features in BC2 that they have in COD. Especially the weapons. They get out of a COD hardcore server and go play in BC2 server and they can't kill anything. They have to realize there is a learning curve. And the guys that are BF players, do NOT want this game turning into COD!

Definetly not. This latest BF title is a lot more "arcadey" than previous titles but at its core, it is still a BF game. I've seen a lot of posts floating about where people are trying to turn the game into CoD4. Having said that when CoD4 came out people wanted to turn that into Mohaa lol.
