And another game adopts the lazy IW route... Stay away from this game.

From Kotaku:

Well, they confirmed that BioShock 2 (http://kotaku.com/tag/bioshock2/) won't support LAN gaming or dedicated servers (http://kotaku.com/tag/dedicatedservers/) anyway. In a Q&A on multiplayer posted at the Cult of Rapture, 2K explained their absence as a matter of ordering priorities within a limited time for development: Bringing Multiplayer to BioShock was a daunting task between the tech (there was no multiplayer support in the codebase from the first game) and the expectations of the community. Either you try to do everything and so nothing feels finished or you focus your efforts to do a smaller number of things really well like an accessible online experience.
The rest of the Q&A offers more details on how multiplayer will work on all three platforms for this game, which releases Feb. 9.

Someone should remind them that there was no MP component in Medal of Honor Allied Assault, but at the last minute 2015 decided to add that to the game (including dedicated server support).

The rest is history. :undecided

We need real PC game developers to come and rescue us... and fast!

You got that right. I just cant believe the lazy arse publishers these days. Damn this is a sad situation for sure. How can publishers be so frigging lazy, stips functions/features from the game and yet jacks the price of it up 10 or more bucks to "EQUAL" that of the console pole smokers.

Time to find something else to do..............................

OH!..... WAIT!!

According to the wowie-zowies.... WE should learn to adapt and embrace these "new" policies brought forth by the devs and publishers. Policies that shrewdly disguise or hide the "milk the consumers" for all the cash that's possible.

This one is another NO SALE.

This one is another non-military shooter with few game modes announced an a SP legacy that it is riding as a franchise. I didn't expect it to have dedicated servers or be a clan game, don't know anyone who did. Be like expecting Call of Pripyat to be a great MP experience, cool if it did...but not the main selling point. I will wait for reviews to see if the story telling and atmosphere held up from the first.

I really wished game like this wouldn't even bother with a MP. If you can't do it right why waste the resources that could be spent on the SP?

I will get it for the SP like I did the original.

That's not good to hear, but personally I wasn't interested in Bioshock 2 multiplayer anyway. I probably will be buying Bioshock 2 and it will probably be one of the last games for me, with the trends we are seeing. I've been looking forward to Mass Effect 2 and Bioshock 2. I got ME2 and I'll sell my soul once more when the other is released.

I'm getting right pissy over how much of a nuisance gaming is starting to be. I've got thousands of dollars in existing games and I don't need to purchase very many more. (Especially from the likes of Ubisoft... unbelievable what they are about to extrude from their rectum)

The arrogance of the game companies is coming to a head. PC gaming is almost over. I envision a day when the likes of Intel, AMD and Nvidia are going to start sponsoring game development on the PC. Gaming is what drives hardware development.

Microsoft had better not get too arrogant either, figuring on diverting everyone to Xbox gaming. Just imagine how many people (not the majority of course, but significant numbers could switch to alternative systems) who would no longer need Windows if not for games. (It's the only reason I ever buy Windows... for goofing off and playing games. I do all my work on Linux)

I have no regrets in buying Mass Effect 2, it is everything I could want in a shooter style RPG. Also if you use nHancer the game looks amazing and still performs really well. This is hands down my favorite titles of the year.

I am hoping that Bioshock 2 will be as impressive.
