PRM 3.6 is great for realism. for realism and added eye candy try Merciless v5 beta.

I would suggest the Total War 2.2a package for good realism and the for the best in reliability and customization.

Merciless creates its own folder and if... you are using a stats parser you wind up with two files of the log and cfg.... which of course is highly inconvenient. Also, certain cvars in Merciless are not working properly and as with most mods (sigh) it conflicts with other mods. (When are the mod coders going to make their mods all compatible?)

This is a great game offering users many, many hours of solid entertainment. However, running a server is demanding of an admin and any package such as TW 2.2a is a godsend in as much as ease of use and utility are concerned for an admin. :!:

Granted, Merciless offers more gore (which I like for realism) but the trade-off in having to have extra folders and an install is rather cumbersome. If Merciless were to offer an optional setup install routine or one similar to TW instead of separate folders and files and offer an in game RCCON menu and an editable cfg file as does TW 2.2a, we'd be there in a heartbeat.

We are using Total War 2.2a on our servers and anxiously await the new 2.3 version.

Pool can you hear me?

Hope this helps.....

Truly for the best Realism Mod Merciless V5 is the best. It incorporates shellshock, PRM realism and a fantastic blood mod for a very realistic game. The slowly growing pools of blood and now the headless bodies adds extreme realism.

PoolMaster...... no offense meant.

I honestly believe your realism is the very best out there.

However, the install routine, (understandably written for quick easy installation) is something I'd like to see having at least an option to go either with the auto-install or, with a normal .pk3 placement and use of a .cfg file. (Check out the config file for TW 2.2a) it will show what I mean for functions I think are needed in Merciless)

Having (2) log files and (2) config files is somewhat cumbersome when parsing for stats. (We use ServerStat.) Not impossible but a pain.

An important and badly needed item is having a built-in RCON menu. The RCON menu should include a function of getting all the maps offered on a server, not just the stock maps, into a list so the admin may choose which to use with the ability to setup rotation for all maps and game types.

Full map manipulation is a big item already and going to get more important as COD popularity grows. (custom maps, mods, skins, updates, expansion packs etc.)

Anti-camper is functional in TW. Although we did get quite a few laughs with yours. Having both the adjustable timer, a gassy situation as part of the timer and finally, an explosion or asphiyxiation would be a real hoot.

In all sincerity, I believe Merciless, with its realism and quality thus far, would if the above features mentioned were added, become the ipso facto standard for admins and servers universally.

I must add a hearty thank you so far for a wonderful effort and ask that you consider my requests as they are thought out and sincere.

I admit I am running TW 2.2a at this time but would change in a heartbeat if I could have the realism of Merciless .5 and the functionality of TW in one package.

Having a superb realism (Merciless) package coupled with the Pvt. Ryan sound & effects pk3 and the TW admin, messaging, RCON Utility would be the utopian package.

Thank you for listening and thank you for your efforts thus far.

Cheers!

Well, I messed around with the auto-install, and decided that there are some people out there who'd wind up crashing their server trying too do it, so I only use patch installs with unreleased betas that I let some people tes.

At the moment, it's a .pk3 installment, you put the .pk3 in there and it's activated. Now you do need a .cfg, but that's easy, there's even a .cfg in there, and if you really need it, there's a site with a PRM .cfg builder out there, http://www.milliways.st/cod/prm.php

HLCRcon has a ver out that supports PRM.

I appreciate your efforts a great deal. As soon as we have something to work with I'll grab it and give it a go.

I will report back here how everything goes. And offer my help to those attempting to go the pk3 cfg route.

Admittedly, when I first encountered cfg... I was somewhat baffled but as with all things I soon learned.

I now have no trouble with the cfg files and their manipulation.

Again, thank you! :!:
