Server doing strange things help please :)

Hi all

I wonder if anyone has seen this problem..

The full fault is, when in game, people vanish before your eyes, ie the play characters.... For example you can be running behind someone and they just disapear, they are actually there and could turn round and shoot you and you would never know, the net result is people are being accused of cheating etc on the server, so we can not use it to play wars

Any ideas?

Do you have sv_pure set to 1?

Are you running any mods on the server? If so, list them.

Sv_pure is on 1 and the server is running no extra mods.

r u sure these people are not just going to spectator and then rejoining?

Nope there not going to spectator its a tad funny really u can move your cursor over someone and the name will appear but u can't see the model if you look at the web link below u can see it.
Now we have tried 2 different kernal versions for linux RH 9. the server has been updated to 1.3 and its been rebuild twice and its running now mods.

Does it happen on STOCK maps?

The image you showed us looks like a custom map.

You should try playing without ANY mods (that includes custom maps) and see if ti happens.

When trying to diagnose problems, you should always limit all outside influence. In this case, put the server back to being completely stock and see what happens.

the server only has stock maps and is running no extra mods. the ip of the server is 82.136.20.14:28960

Well for one, your map rotation is screwed up; it never changes from chateau for god sakes.

As for the disappearing stuff, never seen it happen; there was 6 or 7 people playing.

So if this really does happen and more then one of you see it, your options are you have a ba install, try again. Or, there's a new cheat out there that I'm not aware of; since I am familiar with several cheat sites and I have yet to read about such a cheat, I lean more to the resintall solution.

Speaking of cheats,there is a certain new skin available for public download on many of the CoD sites which makes you invisible to other players who do not have it installed.
I installed it on my server,and was running about invisible for 5 mins. before someone pointed it out to me. (it was removed from the server straight away after that!)
It seems to be a fault with the skin,and not a deliberate cheat.I am not going to give anybody the name ,but im sure lotsa people have d/loaded it and are using it in all innocence.
