While it many people have played Crysis, the hardware requirements scared off a fair number of FPS gamers 2 years ago when Crysis released. This weekend Steam has the two installments of Crysis for just $30. While the Crysis Wars multiplayer community is struggling, it is a PC game with a strong mod community and big dreams for the future of CryEngine 2. Here are links to the sale:

It is an install limit based technology when it isn't protecting the encryption of the files on a disk. Basically it is like all other DRM where it sends a code created for that machine off to a server that keeps track of how many of your installs you have used. Why this is necessary when the game is on Steam is likely because the publisher has already paid for it so they figure they might as well leave it in.

Yay stacked drm.
