MW2: Production Errors on PC Version?

The english site EG4 (http://e4g.info/2001/modern-warfare-2-pc-errors-becoming-common.html) and the german site bignside (http://bignside.de/modern-warfare-2-produktionsfehler-die-zweite/12021) are reporting more and more errors which seems to be caused by a production failure.

Installation has been tested on seven different configured clients, but 2nd dvd could not be read by any of those...
This behaviour has been confirmed by several other readers of the site.

An official statement from Activision is still open, also an information if the 2nd disc is necessary for installation at all...

Courious that each tested drive refuses to recognize the DVD at all.
One point could be that the drive has a capacity of 6.9GB, which seems to be the new standard for all new games.

I had posted this early am but pulled it while I await a reply from Activision. I'll assume if we don't hear anything by Monday then it's true and will move this to the front page.
