PC Modern Warfare 2: it's much worse than you thought

Modern Warfare 2 has long earned the ire of PC gamers for its lack of dedicated servers, but Infinity Ward has now announced that it's taking away much more than control over hosting with the game in one long face-palm of a question and answer session. No servers, no console, no mods, no problem!

This is, for all intents and purposes, a console game that plays on your PC.

It's a shame that it's impossible to show a jaw dropping on an online chat.

You have to wonder if there are any actual PC gamers working at Infinity Ward,

Remember, you can easily answer any inconvenient questions by saying it would ruin the game's balance.

I liked the article too but I think it will be difficult for modders to break the game apart and make a custome version out of it. Not impossible but tough.

I think it would be more likely that we will see a "MW2" mod for CoD:4. Port the maps and skins from MW2. We know that most of the crazy perks come from CoD:4 mods anyhow!

I think the real question is why they would. Far Cry 2 screamed for modders, that game had brilliant potential...but it had absolutely no community due to the consolified MP and no mod tools. If there is no community it is unlikely that you will get a brilliant group to go in and find a way to mod it. They want people to play their mod and without a community of some form, it is unlikely they could get more than just their development group.
