Trust me when i say this, PB is not going to be released in a game patch any time soon.PB has been avaiable as a manual download for over 2 months now.IW has not bothered to put it into a patch and basically have said nothing about when it might be put in one. The cod community at this stage is less then half of what it was like 2 months ago and has never even come close to what the MOH community was like when it first came out.By the time IW gets there @#$% together there will be nobody left. IW had the chance to make a great game for the Multiplayer community and dropped the ball big time. Cant wait for Pacific assault to come out

1. My educated and more informed guess would be within 2 weeks.

2. It will be distributed when it is ready.

3. Would you like me to get you the stats showing that CoD is #2 behind HL when it comes to total #'s of people playing?

My conversation with PB doesnt support your statement

I was told by PB that the complete program has been done for weeks now and nothing new has been added or changed. You can download the server side and client side right from PB and have full anti cheat working. The problem is

1 there is no auto updating, as this needs to be set in the games coded area and needs to be done in a patch

2 the oviouse problem of no one having to be forced to add a patch that would give them all the required files.

PB has said to me that it is IW who is in control of If and when it will be released in a patch form. As far as they are concerned it is all done.

I hope ADDIC is right with his statement about it possibley being released in 2 weeks

You are right ADDIC about it being second behind HL but if you check the stats futher you will see a larger % still play the stock non patched game and as each patch comes out it gets less and less ( I beleive)

Anyhow i am just in a bad mood ...lol... and was hoping that IW would have had more insight into these problems, specaily with have of the MOH crew developing the game.

No you can't. All that's there to download are the security files and server binaries. You still need a patch to actually integrate PB into the game.

For instance you can't just create a pb folder, dump all those files in there and CoD will magically respond to all the PB commands and cvars.

Thats what i was trying to say in my post, the PB part is done set up and ready to go, BUT it wont work till it is patched into the game via coding...i probably didnt explain myself very well ...lol

Now like I said they were testing it with cod.... you have to test the integration of pb first to make sure it works properly...but hey they are gona release it now......

We all anticipate the long over due release of the patch 1.4 that will incorporate PunkBuster into the CoD game. They never said 1 week they said approx. 1 week, so this could even be slightly longer. As for CoD being one of the group of top ranked games. Yes it is, but it is steadily losing its appeal due to the growing number of hacks. Yes you are correct that the majority of players still play on the original stock version of the game. They are still waiting for PunkBuster and have seen too many negative effects caused by the releases of 1.2 and 1.3 patches. CoD is a great game and has great potential in the multiplayer realm of internet gaming. Activision and IW need to get it right with this patch, so the players on the stock original will finally move up to the 1.4 patch.Incoming communique...
