Updates to Left 4 Dead 2 Demo have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:
Left 4 Dead 2 Demo
Fixed bug that caused dedicated servers to become unjoinable over time without a restart or heartbeat update
Fixed exploit that allowed players to end a campaign and return to the lobby without a vote
Public players are no longer matched to lobbies that are idle for a prolonged period of time. These lobbies become "Friends-only" lobbies
LAN servers list will now show listen server single player games as not joinable and will show game type as "single player" too

Sounds suspiciously like they're learning things through the demo which will the actual game.
Which means people who buy the game won't be as upset on day one.
Which means they'll tell their friends that it's a good game.
Which means their friends will buy it.
Hmm...wonder why IW didn't think of this...

All they were seeing was the dollar signs in their eyes and how to scam more out of you.

I see demo is still only avail to peeps who pre-order ... so.... Vavle now ask that you pre-order the game (buy it in essence) and ONLY THEN you can access the demo?
Fck, this is a little sick if you ask me :/

Question is...Can you cancel your pre-order?

I do not know but in all legality you have not "taken" delievery of L4D2. It is not to be released for another what 2 weeks almost.
I would send Valve support a request if that is what you want and see what happens.

The demo will be available to everyone about two weeks before the release.

Ah. Well, I don't actually have the pre-order. I was just pointing out that if you disliked the demo and could still cancel your pre-order, then it really isn't overly evil. Maybe minorly evil, but not overly.
Hearing that it's available to everyone a couple weeks ahead makes it even less a concern.
