Im having a problem setting up a server, I can join it myself and see it in my xfire list but i cant find it in the server list and no one else can join.

Ive tried setting up a static IP and portforwarding both the router and my local firewall which seems to now let me host CoD5 Co-Op games which i couldnt do before.

Im running Windows XP, a Dynalink RTA1320 modem/router and using COMODO Internet Security.

EDIT: Also i think its worth mentioning that the game is running on the static ip that i set up on my computer instead of my external ip and when i force it to run under my external ip through the target line in the shortcut i cant find the server anywhere.

yah you have to run it on your internal or lan ip addy.

the way i test it is to run it as a lan server - 1 - and then look for it in the LAN server list in the ingame browser. THen I join it to make sure its running the maprotation i setup. Because it can run but if you have a custom map missing for instance, it will default to a stock rotation.
Here's a sample commandline I use:

"C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\iw3mp.exe" +set dedicated 1 +set sv_maxclients 64 +set fs_game mods/testx4v20 +set punkbuster 0 +exec server.cfg +map_rotate

Yeah its allready running on my internal static ip. (my router being 192.168.1.1 and my static being 192.168.1.2)

The config etc. works perfectly and its running promod w/o any problem the problem is that i want it online and atm instead of it being on my external ip its using the local static one and if i try to foce it to use my external ip by using "+set net_ip xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" it 'dissapears' and i just cant find it or connect to it.

(sorry if my terminology is wrong)

well, thats how you get the server to show up as a wan server, using your lan ip in your command line. Have you been over to http://portforward.com to check your router model and how to forward the ports for this game ?

Yeah ive been to portforward and done the whole get up along with setting up a static ip.

I changed the target line to start the server as dedicated local and it works fine and shows up in the lan list and its running as my local static ip (192.168.1.2)

In the command line i dont use the set net_ip command and it automatically uses my local 192.168.1.2 but if i use it to force it to use my external ip (as im assuming it is supposed to be) the console says the server is running and returns all the details but i cant join it or find it.
