Bad memory module maybe? Overheating is another thing that comes to mind.
What video card are you using?
ATI released new drivers for the CoD 1.3 patch as it was causing this very problem as well as some graphic issues.
Try the video drivers first, if you're using an ATI card. Otherwise, do this:
1) Uninstall CoD altogether
4) Delete any CoD folders/files left over
3) Delete the CoD reference in your registry (it's in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Activision\Call of Duty)
4) Reinstall from CD
5) Upgrade directly using the 1.3 patch (i.e. do not apply the 1.2 patch)

Sorry for the delay in replying It turns out when I had thought of the card overheating so I bought a new one and went to install and then the monitor would not work. So I tried another monitor. First thought is bad vid card so I put the old on in which I knew worked and nada no video. Figured mother board was toast so this being far beyond me I took to the computer emergency room and the bios was screwed up and 2 virsus that macafee didnt get so I got it back and its doing well now.
Thanks
