http://www.fpsadmin.com/gallery/main.php/d/3861-2/hell_freeze.jpgTreyarch's community manager actually interacts with the PC community via the official World at War forums. The topic was "Why Do You Need a Sponsor for MP2?"Guys, the team is still working on Map Pack 2 support - they literally sit across from me and are working on it right now. I hope to have more information next week.
Enjoy the holiday weekend, and double-XP!

Rare occasion. But srsly. They made the maps on the PC? So why is it easier to make them work well on consoles and not PC's themselves?
Because you are just misunderstanding how game development works. Yes, the raw assets are developed on a PC, but the virtual game engine that actually uses those assets to display the game on your screen is completely different. The raw assets still have to exported, compiled, and then tested on the PC the same way it does on a 360 or PS3. Just because something works on the 360 doesn't mean it just magically works on the PS3 (or PC) as well once compiled for that specific platform. There are different nuances for each platform.
That is why there is a dedicated team of PC engineers who are working on Patch 1.5 and Map Pack 2 support for the PC.
And one last comment within the same hour as the above:Mr.Non wrote:Maybe you should sticky your updates about MP2 progress and patch 1.5 progress to stem the tide of people whining about them.
I have - check the Patch 1.5 sticky update. What I've posted in this thread is nothing newsworthy - think about it =P.
What the Treyarch community manager fails to understand, is to this day, the lack of communications on his part, is the main reason why there are so many upset members on the official forums and in the Call of Duty World at War community right now. I bet he still thinks it has to do with the delay of MP2 on the PC.
The developers and publishers who take care of ALL their customers on all their platforms, will be more profitable and well liked among their paying customers.
Some will never learn.................- Forum thread here (http://www.callofduty.com/board/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=173347&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&sid=0867598c37567b9fb98765e0639fbdc6) until SparkyMcSparks deletes it.
